For over 20 years now hypnosis has been used to successfully treat IBS - irritable bowel syndrome.

The research into this has been published in the Lancet journal and shows how a protocol treatment of up to 12 sessions of "gut directed hypnotherapy" can lead, not to a cure, but to massive relief of pain and discomfort. This use of hypnotherapy was pioneered in the UK by doctors and, at the moment, only a few hypnotherapists have been trained to use gut directed hpnotherapy.

This treatment can be supplemented at home by the use of specific hypnosis Cds and can be highly successful over the long term.
